Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 8-24-19

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Garrett Leman, a member of the Football Team at West Central High School. Garrett helped lead his team to a dramatic 36-31 comeback win over Caston in the opening game of the season.  Down 31-28, the Trojans went to their Junior receiver for a 71-yard gain that set up his game-winning catch.  He then scored the 2-point conversion for the win. On the night, Garrett caught 6 passes for 112 yards.  He also was effective for the defense with 3 tackles and 2 pass break ups. 

Garrett is the Son of Kurt and Val Leman and also plays basketball and baseball for the Trojans.

Garrett will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the Award and a T-shirt commemorating his achievement and will be a future guest on the “Saturday Sportsline”. He will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year Award later this Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and a college scholarship, compliments of WKVI and the Family of Tyler Roth.
