Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week 12-21-19

Delanie Gale

Our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week for this week is Delanie Gale, a member of the Girls Basketball Team at South Central High School.

Delanie had an incredible night in leading her team back from a 16-point deficit, with less than five minutes to go, against 5th ranked Oregon-Davis, to within one point before time ran out. While her team lost 76-75, it was one of the greatest comebacks in Lady Satellite history, as the 5-5 Sophomore led all scorers with 35 points. Of those 35 points, 27 came in the second half! Her scoring barrage included six made 3-pointers. She also accounted for two steals with scores in the furious comeback while picking up five rebounds as well!

Delanie is the Daughter of George and Missi Gale, and was a key member of the Sectional Championship team as a Freshman last year. She also hit over .400 with 14 home runs on last year’s Sectional Championship softball team!

Delanie will receive a certificate suitable for framing, a history of the award, a t-shirt commemorating her achievement, and a free pizza compliments of Momma’s Pizzeria in Knox. She will also be a future guest on the Saturday Sportsline!

Delanie will also be eligible for our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Year award next Spring, which carries with it a beautiful plaque and college scholarship compliments of WKVI and the family of Tyler Roth.

Congratulations to Delanie Gale of South Central High School, our Tyler Roth/WKVI Athlete of the Week!
