Bremen girls’ track sets records, qualifies runners for state

WARSAW — The Lady Lions of Bremen traveled to Warsaw High School on Tuesday night for the Regional Championship meet. By the end of the meet, the girls had placed 9th overall and were sending an individual and a relay to the state meet while breaking three school records and nearly breaking a fourth.

Junior Emma Kincaid got the fireworks going for the Lions as she broke her own recently set school record and punched her ticket to the State Meet in the 400 dash, running a 57.6 and placing second overall. Kincaid’s previous record was set this year at a 57.77.
Freshman Kate Kincaid followed this up with a record-setting performance in the 800-meter run, placing 5th overall with a time of 2:18.84, exactly one second faster than the previous record set by Hope Jordan in 2011.
The girls’ 4×4 relay ended the meet with an unbelievable race, defending their number one seed by dropping more than 7 seconds off the previous record set last season and ending as Regional Champs and State qualifiers. The team of Kila Foster, Sara Sahlhoff, Kate Kincaid, and Emma Kincaid broke the 4-minute barrier, running a blazing fast 3:59.34.
